Continuity of land use, a physical distillery, an operating company, a production team, and a consumer brand are separate historical claims; one can persist, disappear, or be revived while the others change.
These layers can still form a meaningful institutional tradition when the relationship is documented; separation does not require denying continuity, only specifying it.
Historical pages should identify exactly which object continued across a date. A warehouse or parcel can predate formal distilling; a plant can survive through multiple corporations; a brand can move between owners or production sites. Treating all as one lineage creates false founding dates and masks discontinuity.
