One Citation record represents one source-and-locator reference. It must be reusable, verifiable, and connected to every Claim and manuscript location where it appears.
Source and locator
Relate exactly one canonical Source. Add the precise locator and connect the underlying Excerpts when available.
Formatted outputs
Record the full citation, short citation, footnote text, and bibliography entry required by the selected style. Preserve a stable permalink for changeable online sources.
Usage map
Connect all supported Claims and every Chapter or Section where this citation is used. The relations replace the legacy Used checkbox.
Verification checklist
Exactly one Source is related.
Locator is precise enough to recover the passage.
Formatted entries match the project's citation style.
Claims show what the citation supports.
Chapters or Sections show where it appears.
Excerpts supply evidence-level traceability.
Citation Status is Ready only after verification; use Used after placement in an active draft.
