Campbell, Sally Van Winkle. But Always Fine Bourbon: Pappy Van Winkle and the Story of Old Fitzgerald. Louisville, KY: Limestone Lane Press, 1999. Expanded ebook, release date not stated; supplied 291-page PDF capture includes material through at least 2004.
The 75 th birthday and company-centenary celebration in 1949 frames Pappy's business philosophy: limited customers, dependable quality, warehouse receipts, distributor loyalty and restraint about expansion. Weller's 1849 wholesale origin, nineteenth-century addresses,1873 fire and rectification history precede Pappy's 1893 employment. The September 12,1956 letter on PDF 37 explicitly acknowledges wholesale liquor dealing and rectifying while asserting an earlier small alcohol distillery. Road-selling recollections describe relationships and varied customers.
