The Association Against the Prohibition Amendment was established in 1918 by William H. Stayton, and Pauline Morton Sabin founded the Women’s Organization for National Prohibition Reform in May 1929. Organized national repeal advocacy therefore existed before the Depression-era constitutional endgame.
