Source argument

Tertiary account of composition, labeling and market positioning. It mixes legal summary with unverified statements about quality, price and flavor.

Evidence map

All 39 lines of 188-reading.txt reviewed, including references. Local original revision retained.

Lines 1–7: do not equate blending with inferior components or lower price. Statements that most whiskey cocktails use inexpensive blends and that subtlety becomes unimportant are unsupported generalizations, not consumer-blending guidance. Named brands cover several jurisdictions and expressions; a list is not a verified current product catalog. Country-specific age rules cannot be compressed into one universal rule.

Lines 9–15: the Canadian any-grain-spirit summary omits other identity requirements. The asserted practical purity limit is not a verified physical constant. Irish and Scotch definitions must retain their separate grain/malt/pot-still meanings; they do not establish US labeling rules or sensory quality. The Johnnie Walker superlative is an unverified market claim. Five reference entries include overlapping Scotch regulation citations, not five unique new works reviewed.

Lines 16–18: US blended whiskey, named-type blends and blends of straight whiskeys are distinct. The percentage thresholds use proof gallons. Spirit whiskey permits 5% or more, correcting the article's greater-than-5 wording. A blend of straight whiskies may include neutral spirits as part of flavoring under the table's exception; do not retain an absolute no-neutral-spirits statement. State origin matters, but the article's either-different-states-or-additives wording is not a complete decision tree for all mixtures.

Consumer application: mixing commercial bottles is the activity of blending; it does not by itself make the result the statutory category American blended whiskey. Preserve ingredient identities, proofs and volumes separately from a hypothetical commercial label. This article does not supply a tested recipe, repeat-session method or success criteria.

Researcher synthesis

Use jurisdiction, statutory category, physical blending activity and sensory quality as distinct retrieval concepts. Compare No access. No unchecked market or sensory assertion promoted to a factual Zettel. Underlying EX/CI integration remains open for any claims selected for publication.

Source-content closeout — September 12, 2026

All 39 extracted lines reread, including references and navigation. The single embedded article illustration has now been visually reviewed at the supplied resolution. The single embedded image shows a Johnnie Walker Red Label bottle. It illustrates a blended Scotch product, not American legal identity or blend composition. The image does not substantiate the caption's worldwide popularity superlative, comparative quality, or current specifications.

The original HTML is preserved in the existing Wikipedia archive; the illustration and hash manifest are now preserved in the additional three-article media package on No access. This supersedes earlier image/native-archive-pending statements for this captured article. Site icons are not research figures. Referenced outside works, underlying claim verification and browser presentation remain separate; no public-use image rights clearance is implied.

Assessment

Full captured-article content review complete, including the embedded image. Native archive reconciled; browser presentation remains unchecked. Legal checks are bounded to the linked section; foreign rules and age-label details require their governing text.

Completion checklist

One Source and collective credit linked.
Written article and references read.
Source account separated from qualifications.
Remaining underlying claims verified.
Source image and preservation checks complete.
Browser presentation verified.

Sources

Revision 1350920599; supporting 27 CFR 5.143, full displayed text read. This check does not mark all cited works processed.

Preservation reconciliation — September 8, 2026

The original HTML snapshot is now included in the native Wikipedia-Captures-173-218.zip package on No access. Earlier preservation-pending language is superseded for that HTML only. Local original hashes and ZIP integrity were checked; native attachment presence was refetched. Remote images/assets were not bundled and a new cloud-byte comparison was not performed. Written-source reading does not establish that every cited work or illustration was reviewed. Other source-specific holds remain unchanged.
