Source argument

All 64 written lines and 15 reference entries reviewed. Continuous-column history and operation; diagrams and primary references remain unverified.

Evidence map

Source: No access. Locators below refer to archived extraction LINK-194, not printed page numbers. No direct quotations or validated Excerpt/Citation records promoted.

  • Lines 2–8: description is specifically a two-column analyzer/rectifier arrangement, not the definition of every continuous column still. Caption legend read; diagram pixels remain unreviewed.
  • Lines 9–11: brand/category/legal applications and 95–96% values require distinction between apparatus capability, azeotrope measurement basis and product-specific rules. A column can produce flavorful whiskey; high-purity capability does not mandate neutral output.
  • Lines 13–24: Adam1805, Bérard1806, Cellier-Blumenthal1813 and Pistorius1817 are chronology leads, not independently verified priority claims. Belgium1828 first-commercial claim lacks clear support. The1820 Brussels first-experiments statement needs reconciliation with1813.
  • Lines 26–30: Perrier1806/1822, St Marc1827, Stein1828 and named installations are discovery leads. Stein1826 in Distillation versus1828 patent may describe different events; do not silently substitute dates.
  • Lines 32–43: Coffey1830, quoted patent improvements, perforated trays, steam regulation1852, and later John Dore company lineage need original-document validation. Distillation's1846 Savalle reference could denote a different development. Trinity education and present-tense company claims remain unverified.
  • Lines 48–64: all15 bibliography entries and external links read as references, not as underlying works. Kockmann journal/title/DOI correspondence needs checking. Morewood1838, Stein1828 patent, HMRC and nineteenth-century reports are follow-up leads.

Researcher synthesis

Read alongside No access and No access. Compare equipment, operating mode and product law separately; apparatus does not alone determine category or quality.

Assessment

Coffey two-column layout overgeneralized; chronology, patent dates, proof basis and legal claims require corroboration. Source-reference listing is not corroboration. No safety recipe, legal advice or priority claim approved.

Completion checklist

Revision 1366671027

Preservation reconciliation — September 8, 2026

The original HTML snapshot is now included in the native Wikipedia-Captures-173-218.zip package on No access. Earlier preservation-pending language is superseded for that HTML only. Local original hashes and ZIP integrity were checked; native attachment presence was refetched. Remote images/assets were not bundled and a new cloud-byte comparison was not performed. Written-source reading does not establish that every cited work or illustration was reviewed. Other source-specific holds remain unchanged.

Illustration check — September 12, 2026

The two-column schematic was inspected at its supplied thumbnail resolution: it distinguishes columns A/B and numbered feed, steam and outlet paths. Tiny symbols are not a fully legible engineering specification. The separate Coffey Still photograph could not be retrieved (HTTP 429). Source remains partial.

Successful image downloads and the exact failed URL log are preserved in the Wikipedia seven-review media archive on No access. This is an access hold, not missing permission. No claim of complete source coverage or publication clearance.
