One Literature Note synthesizes one Source. It should be understandable without reopening the source while remaining traceable to exact Excerpts.

Source argument

September 28, 2026 access audit: publisher record and all 19 sheets of the freely accessible third-edition front matter were read. The substantive chapters and end matter remain unavailable. This note is not a completed book review.

Evidence map

Connect the exact Excerpts that support this note. Do not place unlocated quotations only in the page body.

Researcher synthesis

Explain what the source contributes to the project, how it connects to other research, and where you agree, disagree, or remain uncertain.

Assessment

Record evidence quality, source limitations, and open questions. Separate the author's position from your interpretation.

Completion checklist

Exactly one canonical Source is related.
Every consequential assertion is backed by one or more Excerpts.
Core Summary is complete.
Author Argument and Researcher Synthesis are distinct.
Limitations and open questions are recorded.
Candidate durable ideas have been promoted to Zettels.
Full-source review is complete. Earlier checked template items do not establish chapter coverage.

September 28, 2026 — bounded access audit

The Wiley third-edition record and all 19 sheets of its free front matter were read. This confirms the book's scope, not its methods or results. The prefaces distinguish constrained mixture designs, interactions with process variables, diagnostics and multiple responses. For the Academy, these are candidate tools for a later controlled blending study; they do not establish an experimental protocol without the chapters and examples.

Full-text access remains unresolved. Chapters 1–10 (printed 1–588), bibliography 589–603, answers 604–635, appendix 637–642 and index 643–649 have not been read in this project. The earlier completion template cannot support a full-review claim. Continue accessible books while seeking an authorized complete copy.
