Source argument

All 46 written lines and 15 reference entries reviewed. Batch apparatus, terminology and history; pictures and underlying references remain unreviewed.

Evidence map

Source: No access. Locators below refer to archived extraction LINK-195, not printed page numbers. No direct quotations or validated Excerpt/Citation records promoted.

  • Lines 2–4: batch apparatus and category usage are an orientation, not universal legal definitions. The claimed60–80% ceiling is flagged by the source itself and must not be treated as a physical limit.
  • Lines 6–9: fill level, wash strength and low-wines strengths are illustrative, not approved operating instructions. Pure-component boiling points do not fully describe an ethanol/water/congener mixture. A worm is one condenser configuration, not a synonym for all condensers.
  • Lines 10–11: doubler and thumper descriptions are useful terminology leads, but regional usage and the stated liquid/vapor distinction need technical corroboration. Existing Crowgey research can be reused rather than duplicated.
  • Line 12: the methanol/heads explanation is not validated safety guidance. A lower pure boiling point does not establish that a simple initial discard removes methanol safely; do not translate this into a home-distillation protocol. The DIY and commentary references have not been read.
  • Lines 14–23: alembic lineage, Midleton1825 dimensions,2014 comparison and spirits-safe captions are historical leads. The1880 cited wording qualifies the largest-still claim; no current world record established. Photos not visually reviewed.
  • Lines 32–46: all15references read as citations, not full underlying documents. Irish2014 technical file, Scotch2009 regulations and BNIC should be checked directly before legal statements are published.

Researcher synthesis

Read alongside No access and No access. Compare equipment, operating mode and product law separately; apparatus does not alone determine category or quality.

Assessment

Proof ranges are examples, not physical limits; methanol boiling-point shortcut is not safe operating guidance; largest-still record is dated. Source-reference listing is not corroboration. No safety recipe, legal advice or priority claim approved.

Revision 1364396691

Preservation reconciliation — September 8, 2026

The original HTML snapshot is now included in the native Wikipedia-Captures-173-218.zip package on No access. Earlier preservation-pending language is superseded for that HTML only. Local original hashes and ZIP integrity were checked; native attachment presence was refetched. Remote images/assets were not bundled and a new cloud-byte comparison was not performed. Written-source reading does not establish that every cited work or illustration was reviewed. Other source-specific holds remain unchanged.
