Source argument and evidence map
Keep ratification, implementation, wartime restrictions, beer legalization and repeal separate. The archived opening history paragraph contains incompatible November 1918 dates; possession wording later conflicts with the opening exception. Do not reuse those formulations. Estimates of consumption, crime, revenue, poisoning deaths and prescriptions describe different measures, populations and periods, not one demonstrated national effect.
Researcher synthesis
Prioritize the existing Dills–Miron analysis for its actual design rather than Wikipedia's blended estimates. Treat denaturing narratives, grape-concentrate warnings, bathtub-gin terminology and colorful adulteration anecdotes as verification leads, not instructions or established universal practices. Distinguish institutional enforcement changes over time. A 1932 Rockefeller letter is placed under post-repeal discussion but predates repeal. Reference metadata contains a suspicious Kyvig/Jeffers combination; do not import it uncritically. Images, animated maps and the newsreel remain unreviewed.

Assessment
Full written overview and bibliographic apparatus reviewed. Linked works and media require separate review. No general historical or scientific claim becomes verified merely by appearing here.

Preservation reconciliation — September 8, 2026
The original HTML snapshot is now included in the native Wikipedia-Captures-173-218.zip package on No access. Earlier preservation-pending language is superseded for that HTML only. Local original hashes and ZIP integrity were checked; native attachment presence was refetched. Remote images/assets were not bundled and a new cloud-byte comparison was not performed. Written-source reading does not establish that every cited work or illustration was reviewed. Other source-specific holds remain unchanged.
