Choose messages where a supported buyer concern intersects with an Academy capability that can be demonstrated.
Mechanism
A concern without a matching capability is a product gap; a capability with no established buyer relevance is a hypothesis about value. A compelling phrase does not repair either gap.
Source
Buyer Personas (2024), PDF sheets181–189: match expectations to capabilities, then assess buyer value and competitive strength. Scientific Advertising adds outcome testing and specificity; Accounting Made Simple highlights cash and delivery obligations.
Proposed Academy record
Buyer concern → interview locator → supported insight → actual capability → demonstrable proof → proposed message → test result. Keep absent proof visibly unresolved. A representative lesson could demonstrate teaching depth if research identifies that concern; this is an example hypothesis, not a finding.
Boundary
Do not substitute buyer confidence for educational quality, or competitor uniqueness for usefulness. Claims about learning or commercial outcomes need their own evidence. No campaign is implemented by this note.
Buyer Personas — Buying Decisions, Evidence and Academy Messaging
Course-design evidence extension
A Guide to Online Course Design — USWA Critical Examination
Stavredes and Herder, printed pp14–15,43–49,54–66,149–153 and174–181, supply the educational part of delivery proof: observable outcome → appropriate performance task → staged practice → usable feedback → review of actual performance. A polished lesson sample shows presentation but does not by itself establish learning. Keep buyer relevance, design review and observed learning as separate evidence.
For the proposed distillery-profile comparison pilot, evaluate accuracy, attribution, uncertainty and reasoning on unfamiliar evidence. Specify feedback responsibility, turnaround and capacity before promising the experience. This is Academy synthesis and a proposed test, not implemented delivery or validated results.
Costed Delivery Capacity Extension
Financial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs — USWA Financial Literacy and Critical Review
Financial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs, supplied PDF sheets283–317 and345–380, adds incremental investment costs, capacity questions and financial learning. Combine those questions with buyer relevance and learning-design evidence: can the Academy fund and staff the promised feedback, support and maintenance at the assumed enrollment level?
A proposed promise record should state delivery effort, cash timing, uncertainty range and a test of the promised outcome. An attractive financial projection is not evidence that learning occurs, while a compelling lesson is not evidence that its service commitment can be funded. The book's training anecdotes do not establish a causal business return for USWA.
Content Reuse and Reader Questions Extension
Content Chemistry — Critical Review and USWA Applications
Crestodina's sheets65–74,78–92,108–111 and149–157 add an editorial workflow between buyer evidence and delivery proof. Start from a supported question, then adapt a researched answer to useful formats. Search vocabulary does not establish purchase intent, and a strong opinion does not replace source qualifications.
Proposed distillery-comparison pilot: link one buyer concern to its research locator, an accurate explanation, a comparison diagram and a practice task. Retain source scope and uncertainty in each derivative and assign a maintenance owner. Test whether the task demonstrates the intended skill; a polished promotional asset alone does not establish learning. No public pages changed.
Editorial Ownership And Maintenance Extension
Content: The Atomic Particle of Marketing — critical full-copy review
Lieb with Szymanski, PDF sheets52–71,184–189,262–267 and285–300, supplies ownership, review dates, triage and use-case-led tooling. Buyer evidence and delivery proof can become stale without a named owner and refresh trigger. Proposed profile-comparison pilot: retain the source locator, uncertainty, intended task, response capacity and maintenance responsibility across every derivative. Audit existing tools before buying another. This extends Crestodina's reuse workflow and Kraus/Revella's buyer evidence; no public implementation is claimed.
Content Machine: Editorial Process Extension
Content Machine — editorial workflow, differentiation and accountable growth
Norris, PDF sheets54,66–70,103–109,115–130, supplies a question backlog, relevant next steps, pitch suppression and a style-guide process. Add Lieb's evidence review and maintenance ownership to his three-column board. His hypothetical argument against personas does not replace Kraus/Revella's actual buyer-decision research, and search-term popularity86 does not establish learner intent. For the proposed distillery-comparison pilot, every promise needs a supported learner concern, a demonstrable task and an editorial owner. Templates are proposed; no public content or contact sequence has been launched.
Convert 2.0: Demonstrated Competence Extension
Convert 2.0 — demonstrate useful competence; audit the earnings claims
Kern, sheets27–30,58–59,83–86 and95–101, supplies a useful preview-to-offer sequence but also shows that authority impressions can exist without competence. Join buyer research to an accurate preview and an observable learning task. A true story or polished appearance is not proof of course effectiveness; a survey preference is not evidence of learning. Proposed Academy profile-comparison preview: explain one sourced distinction, ask learners to apply it, and evaluate their reasoning before making stronger outcome claims. No campaign or public change is implemented.
DotCom Secrets: A Sequence Must Deliver Its Promise
DotCom Secrets — critical review and Academy applications (2015) contributes a map from useful preview to purchase and onboarding. Its instruction181 that the base product work without an upsell aligns with a teaching promise that can be demonstrated. Fictional avatars35 and the price/value ladder39/43 do not provide buyer research or learning evidence. Combine Kraus/Revella's interviews with Stavredes/Herder's outcome-aligned activity: a sourced profile comparison should demonstrate what the learner can do. Use clear confirmations, neutral declines, truthful commercial disclosure and accessible cancellation; higher spending is not proof of greater learning.
Expert Secrets: Investigate Objections and Deliver Learning
Expert Secrets — Critical Business Literature Note
Brunson’s stories and offer summaries can clarify a promise, but his classification of objections as false beliefs (124–133) risks concealing real product gaps. Combine buyer interviews with demonstrated course capability. His explicit sales-over-teaching approach (155, 205) should not govern an Academy event advertised as education: deliver the stated learning outcome and identify any optional offer. Payment, confidence and a compelling origin story do not establish competence or learning. Proposed adaptation only.
Frisch: Carry the Promise Through Onboarding and Support
F#ck Content Marketing — Frisch (2019): navigation, ownership and measurement
Frisch (2019), PDF sheets 65–77 and 118–137, extends buyer-informed promises into organized content and consistent customer touchpoints. Pair his audit metadata with Lieb's maintenance ownership and Stavredes/Herder's assessed task. Proposed Academy application: a short profile-comparison route with explicit prerequisites, source dates, accessible formats and useful stopping points. More consumption is not the goal in itself; a named owner does not require a new hire.
Virji: Make the Promise Accessible and Maintainable
High-Impact Content Marketing — needs research, inclusive production and measurable outcomes
Virji (2023), PDF sheets148–191,354–395 and442–493, extends buyer research to lost customers, access needs and maintenance across adapted formats. Combine Kraus/Revella’s buyer evidence with Frisch’s navigation and Lieb’s ownership. Proposed profile-comparison preview: a source-grounded task with usable headings, accurate captions or alternatives, keyboard access and minimal optional data; relevant users attempt the task before stronger claims. Avoid inferring learning from consumption or accessibility from a checklist alone. Record evidence and derivative owners; no public changes or conformance claims are made.
Influence: A Cue Is Not Delivery Proof
Cialdini's seven principles explain possible response mechanisms, not whether an Academy promise is true or suitable. Relevant expertise, authentic learner examples and real limits can aid choice; agreement alone cannot verify learning. Preserve the right to decline even when every stated fact is accurate. Sheets89,230–231 reject fabricated similarities/stock;400's broader ethics boundary remains too narrow. Link every cue to evidence, relevance and a clear account of the offer.
Influence — critical review and Academy applications
Vaynerchuk: Make the Useful Preview Stand on Its Own
Sheets31,33–49 and149–150 add format-sensitive storytelling and an educational gateway, without a fixed three-to-one posting ratio. Pair the Jordan Winery example with buyer evidence and outcome-aligned course design: one sourced distillery comparison, a clear visual or text alternative, an application task and an optional relevant next step. Preserve uncertainty and commercial disclosure across formats. The author's subjective case judgments66 do not establish learning or conversion; historical platform instructions need fresh verification before use. Proposed adaptation only.
Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook — Critical Business Library Review
Walker: Questions Improve a Draft but Do Not Validate Learning
Launch sheets87–113 and129–141 connect early questions, useful previews and iterative delivery. Pair buyer-decision interviews with outcome-aligned performance tasks: learners cannot necessarily identify unknown prerequisites. A recording or transcript140 requires accuracy, accessibility and instructional review. Proposed Academy profile-comparison pilot remains unlaunched.
Launch — Critical Review and USWA Pilot Applications
Lead Funnels: Fulfill Before Inviting the Next Step
Sheets13,64,108 and139 connect useful previews to immediate fulfillment and optional contact. Combine Virji's learner-task focus with Walker's iterative pilot: test an original sourced whiskey-label exercise before promising a larger transformation. Direct download is a legitimate alternative to an email gate.
Lead Funnels — Fulfillment, Form Choices and the Limits of Swipe-File Evidence
Mind Control: Demonstrated Progress Must Be Assessed
Sheets99 and133–138 suggest a clear qualification message and incremental results. Buyer Personas supplies research missing from imagined avatars; A Guide to Online Course Design supplies task/feedback/transfer checks missing from the trust curve. A useful preview should demonstrate a bounded skill, not merely agreement or willingness to buy. Story repetition and premium price supply no independent proof.
Mind Control — Frank Kern | Critical Business Review
No B.S. Direct Marketing: Carry the Promise Through Delivery
Juarez139–142 aligns acquisition, sales, onboarding and progress. Combine Buyer Personas with instructional design: one researched promise should map to activities, feedback and assessed performance. Retention10→72%135 is an undefined case result, not proof of learning. Preserve suitability details despite Proctor179–182 favoring more inquiries.
No B.S. Direct Marketing (Kennedy, Juarez and Fort, 2024) — Critical USWA Review
Ogilvy: Demonstrate the Specific Promise
Sheets101–102 deliver useful information in the service being sold;248–250 distinguish product, communication and market checks. Combine buyer-decision interviews with an actual learning task: a sourced profile comparison can demonstrate a bounded Academy capability before a clear optional invitation. Long copy and heritage content require context; the book's own exceptions133/204 qualify its broad rules.
Ogilvy on Advertising — critical review and Academy applications
Sugarman: Persuasion and Overall Impression
The Adweek Copywriting Handbook — Joseph Sugarman (2007): critical review and USWA applications
Sheets39–58,152–171 and197–198 support product research, buyer-question sequencing and credible copy. Preserve emotional appeal, aspiration, metaphor and suggestion: every phrase need not be a literal measurable promise. Assess whether the overall impression implies a material result, credential or service that cannot be supported. The rejected tactic276 is evading measurable claims after product failure, not evocative writing generally. Combine Buyer Personas research with a real course preview and interpretation tests: what does the prospective learner think the offer provides? Proposed application; no public edits.
Truby: Narrative Appeal And The Implied Offer
Truby's setting212–213, symbol263–277 and disclosure308–309 techniques can make a supported offer vivid. Combined with Sugarman, preserve atmosphere, aspiration and suggestion while checking what readers infer about material results or services. A dramatic transformation is not delivery proof. Proposed internal comparison: two equally factual versions, assessed for engagement, comprehension and implied promises.
The Anatomy of Story — Critical Business Library Review
Cole: An Inviting Headline Must Meet the Reader's Expectation
Cole's PDF131–146 connects subject, audience and promise, while132 explicitly rejects promising more than the article delivers. Pair headline alternatives with buyer evidence and actual Academy capability. Preserve evocative titles, aspiration, metaphor and suggestion; test the overall impression where credentials, results or service are implied. Polished design60–65 and borrowed visibility do not establish expertise. An original sourced preview can show the work without promising universal outcomes. Proposed adaptation only.
The Art and Business of Online Writing — Critical Business Library Review
Halbert — Relevant Attention Should Lead to a Useful Offer
The Boron Letters rejects unrelated bait at109–110 and fake traffic-ticket attention at189–190 while teaching sensory imagery, audience relevance and clear next steps. Combine its offer-first discipline with Buyer Personas and an actual Academy learning preview. Preserve emotion, aspiration and metaphor; check the overall impression about results, eligibility, source identity and what a transaction does. Concealed commercial origin or a misleading purchase control is a separate issue from vivid storytelling. Proposed tests only.
The Boron Letters — Demand, Offers and Staged Tests | BIZ-032
Compass: Creative Variety With A Recognizable Promise
Ayub and Alishquiche offer native channel presentation118–120 and seven creative approaches123–124. Use these to vary mood, fantasy, everyday experience and technical explanation around a real Academy preview. Preserve aspiration, metaphor and suggestion. A testimonial is an experience report, not scientific causal proof; natural integration should not hide a material sponsor relationship. Their contributor checklists107–110 help preserve this agreement through scope, review, rights and capacity. Proposed internal practice, not a live campaign.
The Content Creator’s Compass — audience expectations, creative options and partnership discipline
Bly: A Useful Preview Needs Honest Fulfillment And Case Evidence
PDF41–53 connects the reader's purpose to research, offer, delivery and follow-up;133–142 supplies an eight-question case interview. Combine buyer evidence with an actual application task and preserved testimony. Estimated outcomes, official-looking reports and client approval do not establish a material claim. Preserve evocative storytelling and aspiration while checking the overall impression about what is provided. Proposed Academy practice, not an implemented campaign.
Bly — The Content Marketing Handbook (2020): Critical Review And USWA Applications
Copywriter’s Handbook: Preserve Meaning During Persuasive Editing
Fourth-edition PDF52/58/61 shows that a shorter sentence can promise more than the evidence supports. Pair the useful research brief105–126 with a final check of qualifiers, comparison, identity and terms. Preserve aspiration, story, metaphor and emotional appeal; check material overall impressions. Customer-own-words advice256 is stronger than turning a prompted guess into quantified proof354. Proposed Academy review practice.
The Copywriter’s Handbook — fourth edition (2020): critical examination and USWA applications
Gold Standard: Scenario Outcomes Need Explicit Labels
Ammous's alternative history makes imagined benefits vivid, but those benefits cannot independently validate the premises that created them (PDF sheets 12–18, 303–313). Academy storytelling can evoke a future learner experience while distinguishing observed needs, assumptions and measured results. The small-class mentoring scenario (271–275) can prompt a costed pilot with a rubric, feedback-time measure and unfamiliar transfer task; it does not prove superior outcomes. Preserve aspiration and metaphor without presenting fiction as testimonial evidence or model charts as observations. No pilot or campaign implemented.
The Gold Standard — scenario design, stewardship and evidence boundaries (2025)
Collier: revise the promise against the delivered product
Collier’s Letter Book adds a revealing internal tension: sheets343–346 advise comparing an ideal description with the real product and removing dishonest language, while other campaigns report costly returns and unsupported promises. Eight times the orders generated no additional sales in one premium test (PDF243). Combine buyer evidence with delivery proof and retained outcomes; preserve sensory imagery, aspiration and metaphor, but assess the material impression a learner receives. This connects the buyer-research and instructional-design sources already linked here. Historical results are author reports, not expected Academy lift.
Edition-specific review: The Robert Collier Letter Book — reader relevance, honest fit and retained outcomes
Godin: A Specific Promise Needs An Evidence-Based Plan
Godin connects a chosen audience and meaningful change (PDF28–37) with Truth, Assertions, Alternatives, People and Money (102–104). Extend the existing Academy plan by separating observed buyer needs from hypotheses, then tie each promise to a demonstrable learning task, service capacity and a costed fallback. Pair this with Buyer Personas and instructional-design evidence already linked here. Preserve aspiration, metaphor and suggestion; a compelling identity story does not establish credentials or learning results. Proposed internal practice.
This Is Marketing — audience, permission and a testable business plan
Elements of Style: Preserve Meaning While Improving Clarity
Strunk and White's illustrated edition shows how a clarity rewrite can strengthen certainty or add facts (PDF59,68,102). Alongside Bly's examples, this supports a separate meaning comparison after the persuasive edit: actor, scope, time, likelihood, quantity and causal claim. Preserve aspiration, metaphor and vivid voice while checking the material promise against delivery proof. Historical style preferences are not substitutes for contemporary usage or buyer evidence.
The Elements of Style Illustrated — critical USWA review
Blue Ocean Strategy: Research the Barrier Before Drawing the Curve
The strategy canvas and ERRC framework (PDF66–90) become useful when combined with direct observation and interviews (143–145). Link Buyer Personas evidence to an actual learning task before claiming a distinctive Academy benefit. Proposed factors such as provenance clarity, feedback and comparison practice remain hypotheses until learners and nonbuyers support them. Noncustomers may want history or culture without drinking; do not presume otherwise. Preserve evocative aspiration and metaphor while checking implied material promises. Qualitative value curves and a compelling tagline are not independent delivery proof.
Blue Ocean Strategy — Costed Value Innovation and Its Evidence Limits
Match A Download Promise To The Actual File
The four-sheet Atomic Habits intake artifact contains promotional material rather than the promised full book. Its examination provides a concrete resource-quality example: label a sample or preview accurately and inspect what a download actually delivers. Vivid aspiration can coexist with a clear account of contents. The owner subsequently supplied the complete book, which now has its own finished review; this artifact is not evidence for behavior-change claims.
Atomic Habits Listing — Full Book Missing; Promise and Delivery
Krug — Test Meaning Without Flattening The Voice
Don't Make Me Think! — Clear Routes, Observed Tasks And Learner Attention
The homepage examples (PDF121–155) distinguish useful proposition clarity from generic slogans. The more literal eTour imagery146 can make the service seem harder, supporting appropriate metaphor and visual personality. Test what a reader thinks is offered, then independently compare material promises with delivery evidence. Comprehension, persuasiveness and factual support are separate questions. Word-cutting59–66 explicitly exempts substantive articles; preserve depth and meaningful storytelling.
Proposed internal Academy practice; no measured Academy outcome claimed.
The Brand Gap: Carry the Promise Through the Experience
The Brand Gap — Critical Review and USWA Applications
Neumeier (2006), suppliedPDFsheets25–26,69–74 and89–96, adds a concise brand brief and alignment across touchpoints. A promise becomes credible through repeated behavior, not only an attractive symbol. Pair his prototype interviews83–87 with buyer research and demonstrated learning: ask what a reader thinks the offer means before explaining the intended meaning. Preserve aspiration, wit and metaphor while checking the overall impression against actual capability. Small concept tests reveal questions; they do not establish population demand or instructional effectiveness. Proposed Academy use: one maintained brief and one discovery-to-feedback journey map.
BIZ-095 — Metaphor and Material Promises
Military deception in The Art of War (PDF12–19,102–119) is historical content, not evidence that misleading learners improves Academy outcomes. Preserve persuasive storytelling, aspiration, metaphor and suggestion; support material claims and consider the overall impression. Strategic confidentiality does not justify false claims about instructors, access, accreditation or results. Buyer Personas supplies a better basis for audience understanding than treating buyers as opponents. This is our Academy synthesis, not a literal Sun Tzu instruction.
The Art of War — Critical Business Reading (BIZ-095)
BIZ-096 — Fluent Persuasion Still Needs Buyer Comprehension
Kahneman explicitly discusses making truthful messages persuasive (PDF69). Familiarity, anchors, framing and attractive comparisons can affect impressions without establishing the truth of a claim. Preserve aspiration, metaphor and suggestion, then test whether buyers correctly understand access, effort, price and outcomes (363–385,425–427). Default acceptance is not proof of informed understanding or successful delivery. The book's organ-donation example conflates effective consent with actual donation rates; the primary paper distinguishes them. Proposed comprehension review, not a conversion result.
Thinking, Fast and Slow — Judgment, Forecasting and Buyer Comprehension (BIZ-096)
BIZ-097 — Check the Impression Created by Design
Universal Principles of Design connects aesthetic impressions, framing, defaults, scarcity, storytelling and prestige (30–33,200–203,325–328,411–414,436–444,478–480). Preserve persuasive imagery, aspiration, metaphor and suggestion; examine what buyers infer about access, expertise, credentials and outcomes. Default acceptance and premium appearance are not proof of informed understanding or learning quality. The source reverses the organ-consent default direction and overgeneralizes tuition pricing; those claims are corrected in the review. Proposed practice: ask readers to explain the offer before telling them its intended meaning, then compare the impression with deliverable capability.
Universal Principles of Design — Critical USWA Review (BIZ-097)
BIZ-100 — A Compelling Pilot Can Be Explicit About Its Status
Flynn’s disclosure onPDF208 and the School of Motion beta case220–223 show how aspiration and a tangible sample can coexist with an honest account of an unfinished offer, workload and prerequisites. Preserve story and suggestion while checking material implications about readiness, credentials, availability and outcomes. A yes-ladder is persuasion, not neutral customer discovery; do not substitute agreement for evidence. Proposed Academy practice: a clear pilot invitation paired with a separate research record and delivery test.
Will It Fly? — Founder Fit, Customer Evidence And Honest Paid Pilots
BIZ-102 — Content Consumption Is Not a Causal Buying Rule
A reported78% of selected top customers consumed two long-form pieces (PDF5–6); that is not the probability of success after consuming them. Test helpful pre-enrollment content and actual buyer understanding without imposing an unvalidated two-piece rule. Target learning situations and readiness, not the source's political or demographic profile. Preserve persuasive aspiration while keeping selected success stories distinct from substantiated Academy performance. BIZ-102 — The Lost Chapter — test customer fit and contribution.
Bankable Business Plans: A Promise Needs An Executable Plan
Bankable Business Plans — Critical Examination And USWA Applications
Rogoff's customer, sales and implementation discussions link a promise to skills, staffing, funding and timing. Combine sheets95–146,195–206 with Buyer Personas and Will It Fly?: document the learner's actual problem, the promised outcome, evidence of demand, the people responsible and the dependencies required to deliver. The book's critical-path wording and example are wrong; use the longest dependency path, with uncertainty and capacity made explicit. Persuasive aspiration remains useful, but speculative customer stereotypes, inconsistent founder resumes and unverified capability claims are not evidence. This is a proposed Academy planning check, not an implemented offer or schedule.
StoryBrand: Preserve Aspiration And Test Understanding
Miller — Building a StoryBrand (2017) | BIZ-105
Miller, sheets31–46,58–87 and106–135, supplies a memorable learner-centered explanation: desired progress, real difficulty, competent help, a process and next action. Combine it with Buyer Personas and Krug: validate the supposed problem and observe whether learners understand the offer. Preserve metaphor, curiosity, belonging and aspirational identity while checking the overall impression of credentials, guarantees and results. A simple story is not buyer evidence or proof of learning. The book's own real-villain boundary60 supports avoiding invented fears; its leading testimonial prompts171 need neutral discovery before faithful editing.
Business Model Generation: Give Each Promise A Delivery Chain
Business Model Generation — Coherent Models, Evidence And Academy Delivery
The canvas28–69 and customer/design methods178–299 extend StoryBrand's clear promise into the activities, rights, support and capacity needed to deliver it. Separate imagined empathy notes from observed needs, and distinguish buyer from beneficiary where an employer or sponsor pays. Stories and future scenarios can remain persuasive, but they do not establish actual outcomes. Proposed Academy check: every material outcome claim links to a delivery requirement and evidence; partnership funding does not silently determine editorial content.
E-Myth Revisited — Turn the Promise Into Accountable Work
The E-Myth Revisited — Founder Independence, Systems and Service
The book joins lead generation, conversion and fulfillment (PDF174–175) and illustrates service consistency (143–149). Proposed synthesis: map each material promise to an owner, workflow, completion evidence and recovery path. Preserve persuasive storytelling and aspiration, while testing whether actual delivery supports the overall impression. Standardize reliable service without scripting away qualified teaching judgment or treating every buyer as irrational.
Evergreen Affiliate Marketing — Preserve Trust in Recommendations
Evergreen Affiliate Marketing — Trust, Useful Content and Net Economics
Offer evaluation70–75, authentic use stories127–134 and drawbacks173–174 support a recommendation dossier: reader need, actual examination, alternatives, limits, compensation and review date. Keep persuasive narrative and aspiration; do not hide commercial purpose or convert anecdote into guaranteed results. The book's claim that an unrecognized advertorial is successful requires correction against FTC guidance linked in its Literature Note. A superior free alternative may be the best recommendation even when it generates no commission.
Abrams — Business Plan Contribution
Abrams's Five F's and indirect messages connect utility, convenience, emotion and future support to positioning (PDF164–169). Her corporate-training example separates purchaser and student needs (183–186). Academy synthesis: preserve narrative and aspiration while checking material reader impressions against actual scope, teaching capability and evidence. Perceived quality is distinct from demonstrated learning.
The Successful Business Plan — Decisions, Delivery And Traceable Forecasts
Christensen — Define Sufficiency For The Intended Learner
An offer can be simpler on breadth, time or interface while remaining rigorous for its stated outcome (supplied PDF274–289). Proposed Academy practice: state who the offer serves and what successful use demonstrates; test both comprehension and convenience. Do not equate digital delivery with disruption or a short tasting exercise with professional qualification. Persuasive aspiration remains appropriate when material impressions match delivery.
The Innovator’s Dilemma — value networks, discovery and Academy innovation
Ries — Test The Promise Without Overstating The Test
A demonstration signup tests interest; a concierge payment tests willingness to buy the particular service; neither establishes scalable delivery or educational effectiveness (supplied PDF80–96,109–119). Proposed Academy pilots preserve persuasive aspiration, clearly identify availability and scope, and measure a promised learning task separately from engagement. Treat cohorts as descriptive unless the design supports causation; a null result does not establish equivalence.
The Lean Startup — experiments, learning and sustainable Academy growth
The Mom Test: Discovery Is Not A Purchase
Fitzpatrick’s recent-experience questions help distinguish an actual problem, existing workaround and budget process from friendly approval (supplied sheets 14–23, 42–57). His time/reputation/money framework is useful, but a letter of intent is not cash received and a discovery interview need not advance a sale to be valuable (65–76). Compare Ries’s intent-letter failures: classify introduction, trial, intent, deposit, purchase and retained use separately. A persuasive Academy promise may use aspiration and metaphor while its material claims remain tied to delivery evidence. Customer confidence, willingness to pay and demonstrated sensory competence require different measurements. These are proposed USWA practices, not completed validation.
The Mom Test — Customer Discovery, Commitments and USWA Applications
