A reusable research or teaching asset earns its investment through reliable decisions and learning, net of build time, upkeep, obsolescence and the best forgone alternative.
Benefits can be delayed and difficult to price. Preserve exploratory value without calling volume or expenditure proof of productivity. Economic capital does not determine accounting capitalization.
Measure evidence quality, retrieval time, educational usefulness and total maintenance. Assign stewardship; include failed projects in evaluation.
Reasoning
Ammous97–99 emphasizes capital upkeep;116–118 explains reusable knowledge. Lieb supplies content-asset organization, Financial Intelligence separates cash and accounting results, and Stavredes/Herder connect resources to learning design. Together they support a testable stewardship principle rather than a claim that every library investment pays off.
Proposed Academy Test
Choose ten representative profile-research questions. Compare current practice with library-assisted work on citation accuracy, answer quality, researcher/reviewer time and correction burden. Include setup and maintenance, choose criteria before observing results, and retain failures in the assessment. No test has yet been run.
Evidence Boundary
This is cross-book Academy synthesis. Neither library size nor a book's analogy proves return. Source locators and limitations are in the linked Literature Notes.
Search and Social Contribution
Garner (PDF458–460) explicitly includes content maintenance, staff stress and time lost in measurement. These qualify his claim that more content brings proportionally greater returns. A maintained answer library should be judged by useful retrieval and learner outcomes net of continuing effort, not page count or historic spend.

Cole: Reuse Needs Continued Editorial Care
Cole's PDF203–225 treats evergreen writing as a reusable library and explicitly rejects padding length225. His successful republication is an author-reported case, not an automatic return on a larger library. Combine his drafting routine with Lieb's governance and Garner's maintenance: retain source dates, canonical answers, derivative links and responsible owners; compare useful retrieval and learning with research, revision and support effort. A topic can remain relevant while particular facts become stale.

Ammous — Patience Requires Capacity and Cash
The Bitcoin Standard, PDF sheets83–86 and121–124, distinguishes a longer production process and actual productive resources from financing alone. For Academy profiles, budget research, editing, maintenance and cash timing before scaling. A longer horizon is useful only when expected learning and decision benefits justify its risks and opportunity costs; patience is not proof of productivity or a moral ranking. This is the same author's argument as Principles of Economics, not independent corroboration.

Gold Standard: A Fictional Stewardship Stress Test
Ammous's imagined managers damage forests, heritage and tourism through short-term optimization (PDF sheets 197–199). This is a scenario, not a documented Tuscany case. It strengthens the question already raised by the accounting sources: does a growth initiative preserve the assets that sustain future benefits? For a proposed Academy profile collaboration, track accuracy, local knowledge, editorial independence and maintenance alongside throughput. Reserve ratios on sheet 175 are invented norms; calculate resilience from actual uncommitted cash and timed obligations instead. No treasury allocation or partnership implemented.

Fiat Standard: Budget the Actual Cost Basket
Ammous61–74 and114–127 raises uneven costs and maintenance. Adapt this into a proposed profile-renewal ledger: research, editing, source checks, image rights, support, cash timing and the next-best use of staff time. Combine with Lieb, Garner and the accounting sources; compare useful decisions and learning against continuing effort. The monetary thesis is not needed to justify the test, and the book's inflation and cost-benefit estimates are not Academy forecasts.
