Scope: Stirring and shaking are presented as means of integrating, cooling, diluting and managing texture. The book gives approximate house cues and discusses egg white, pineapple, muddling and layering; elsewhere Vesper and Whiskey Smash are deliberately shaken.

Limits: Forty revolutions and six-to-ten-second shaking are not universal endpoints. PDF35's taste-category list includes astringency and its aroma-count assertion is not adopted as sensory science. Garnish-free spirit mixtures need not all follow one technique.
