Compare the printed source with regulation 3 of the Scotch Whisky Regulations 2009; this is a category-law correction, not a broad judgment about every Scotch example.
Jim Meehan's 2011 PDT account and supplied 383-sheet PDF.
The 2011 primer describes single malt Scotch as double pot distilled and bottled at 40–46 percent ABV as though these were universal limits. The 2009 Scotch Whisky Regulations require pot stills and at least 40 percent ABV, without exactly two distillations or a 46 percent ceiling.
