Understanding Other Named-Grain Whiskey
This type requires at least 51% of the named grain in the fermented mash, distillation at no more than 160 proof, and storage in new charred oak at no more than 125 proof on entry. There is no minimum storage duration for this non-straight type. Permitted additions are subject to the federal rules. The open named-grain entry should not be read as automatically creating a named straight counterpart. This is an open designation family, such as oat whiskey; use the actual grain name on an individual record.
