Understanding Spirit Whiskey
A mixture of neutral spirits with at least 5% whiskey and/or straight whiskey on a proof-gallon basis. The straight-whiskey portion must remain below 20%; neutral spirits may reach 95%. Spirit whiskey is a specific type, not another name for all whiskey spirits.
