Understanding Whiskey-Based Distilled Spirits Specialties
Some whiskey-based finished or compounded products require an adequate statement of composition rather than a simple whiskey type. Preserve the full designation and the base whiskey separately. This category is a boundary guide for products encountered in the Library, not an assertion that all finished products share one class.

A specialty product does not meet another standard of identity. Its designation follows established trade and consumer understanding where TTB recognizes that understanding; otherwise, a distinctive or fanciful name and statement of composition appear together. 27 CFR § 5.156
The whiskies
The catalogued view includes provisional classifications. Use the source-checked view to narrow the selection to reviewed assignments. An empty view means no matching entries have been assigned yet; it does not mean the category has no products.
