Understanding Straight Corn Whiskey
The corn mash threshold is at least 80%. Distillation may not exceed 160 proof. Aging must last at least two years in used oak or new uncharred oak entered at no more than 125 proof. No coloring, flavoring or blending materials are permitted.

Under four years, an age statement is generally required. The youngest whiskey governs; a stated age may be understated but may not contradict the minimum for the designation. Age statements: § 5.74(a)–(b)
